1. Polymers

Polymers are large molecules (macromolecules) which are composed of several subunits connected in a repeated manner. • PE:

• PEP:
Polyethylene Phthalate (PEP) is widely used for production of soft drink bottles. 
• PS:
Polystyrene (PS) is a synthetic polymer and it is one of the widely consumed plastics. This petrochemical product is clear and transparent, in two foamed and solid forms. Polystyrene is brittle and hard and it can be colored. The main usage of this petrochemical product is in protective packaging, bottles, tumblers, containers, trays, lids, model making, etc. its bio degradation process is slow.
• PP:
Polypropylene or polypropene (PP) is a white, chemical resistant polymer widely used for several applications. This petrochemical product has similarities to polyethylene in many ways but it is harder and it has more resistance to heat and also it is resistant to chemicals. After polyethylene, PP is the most widely consumed commodity polymer and it is used for packaging as well as labeling purposes. 
• PTA:
This petrochemical product is mainly used in polyester industry and it is used for production of textiles, PET bottles, etc.
• PBR:
Polybutadiene (PBR) is a kind of rubber and as it is highly resistant to wear, it is mostly used for producing tires. This petrochemical product is also an additive which increases plastic toughness. Because of its high resistivity to electricity, PBR is used for coating electronic parts. Furthermore, it is used in production of several elastic products. 
• SBR:
Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR) is highly resistant to abrasion. Almost half of the tires are produced by making use of SBR. It will be interesting that this material is used for chewing gum as well. It is also used for shoe heels. SBR has also building applications. There are several other applications for SBR. 
• PVS:
Polyvinyl chloride, a synthetic polymer, is the third polymer which is most widely used for various purposes. There are two kinds of PVC: flexible and rigid. PVC pipes, windows and doors are made of rigid form. Rigid PVC is also used for production of cards (for example bank cards), bottles, and packaging. The flexible PVC can replace rubber in several applications. 
• PC:
Polycarbonate (PC) is a petrochemical product which contains carbonate and is tough and strong. It is easy to use, it can be formed thermally, and it has so many applications. This petrochemical product is mainly used in electronic products because of its safety and insulation features. It is also used in construction industry. It is good to know that this polymer is used for CD and DVD production. 
• ABS:
Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene is a light weight polymer and it can be molded and injected. It has various applications and it is used for areas such as musical instruments, heads of golf club, bars of car bumper, kitchen applications, some medical devices, household products, keyboards, etc.
• LDPE:
Low Density Polyethylene is mainly used for applications such as producing bottles (dispensing and wash), containers, plastic bags special for computer parts, laboratory equipment, surfaces resistant to corrosion, flexible parts, cartons for milk and juice, packaging of hardware, etc. 
• LLDPE:
Linear Low Density Polyethylene has become one of the everyday aspects of our lives and is mainly used for plastic sheets and bags, stretch wraps, plastic wraps, toys, pipes, covers, containers, buckets, pouches, flexible tubes, etc.
• HDPE:
High Density Polyethylene is a petrochemical product which is made of ethylene monomers. This petrochemical product is used in producing some kinds of pipe resistants to corrosion, bottles, plastic lumbers, plastic surgery, stone paper, fireworks, bottle caps, boats, manners, frames of backpack, folding chair, geomembranes, etc. It can be recycled and its identification code of resin is 2. 
• Epoxy:
This additive can result in beneficial mechanical properties as well as high resistance to heat and chemicals. • Ammonia

3. Liquid Gas and Feed stock

It is used as an aromatic source and also as a gasoline blending or gasoline additive.
• Light Naphtha

• Propene
After ethylene, propene is the second starting petrochemical product which is used as a raw material for various products. It is mainly used for polypropylene production. Some important chemicals such as cumene, acrylicacid, propylene oxide, butyraldehyde, and acrylonitrile are produced by making use of propene.
• Butadiene 
By polymerizing butadiene, a kind of rubber is produced. Polybutadiene is also a commercial liquid material. Butadiene and other polymers are used in combination to form ABS, NBR, and SBR. Butadiene is also used for production of rubber materials. 
• Condensate 
This petrochemical product is a mixture of liquid hydrocarbons that has a low level of viscosity and it is used to dilute high viscosity heavy oils in order to make them transportable through pipelines.

• LAB
Linear Alkybenzene. This chemical is an organic compound and it is used as precursor of detergents which are bio degradable. LAB is an intermediate in production process of surfactant.  
• HAB
Heavy alkylate which is produced by combination of di-phenyl alkanes and di-alkyl benzenes, is used in industrial detergents and lubricants, additives of diesel fuel, oil industries, etc. this chemical has a high oxidation stability. 
• TDI
Toluene di-isocyanate is a colorless organic compound and it is mainly applied for producing some kind of flexible foam made of polyurethane.  
• MDI
Methylene di-phenyl di-isocyanate is mainly used for producing rigid polyurethane which are used in all kinds of refrigerators and freezers, and also in buildings because of their thermal insulation property. It is also used as an industrial adhesive. 
• EDC
Ethylene di-chloride (EDC), which is a colorless liquid hydrocarbon, is mainly used to produce vinyl chloride which has many applications such as wall covering, houseware, automobile parts, PVC pipe, etc. It is also used as solvent. 
• Ethylene Glycol 
This chemical is a viscose liquid, colorless and odorless, mainly used in production of polyester fibers and also in formulation of antifreeze materials. It is toxic and can cause poisoning in pets in case of leakage in car antifreeze. 
• DEG
Di-ethylene glycol is a poisonous liquid chemical which is used as solvent.
• VCM
Vinyl chloride monomer. This is a very important chemical and it is mainly used for PVC production. 

5. Aromatics:

Aromatics are hydrocarbons with perfume smell and are compounds exclusively made of hydrogen and carbon. They can be derived from coal and mainly from crude oil. They are starting materials of so many important products.
